At the Regional Community Health Foundation, we believe that strong communities are built on compassion, access to care, and the commitment to help one another. Since 1986, we’ve connected generous donors with local needs – supporting patients, healthcare workers, and students across Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg, and Barnwell counties in South Carolina.
The Regional Community Health Foundation (formerly the Regional Medical Center Foundation) is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of people throughout our region.
Founded in 1986, the Foundation began as a community-led effort to raise funds for a free-standing Cancer Clinic. That same spirit of compassion and collaboration continues today. Guided by a volunteer Board of Trustees, we partner with MUSC Health Orangeburg, donors, and local organizations to provide hope and tangible assistance to patients, healthcare employees, and students pursuing medical careers.
Our mission is to respond to the needs of our community with compassion and integrity. We help patients who lack immediate resources to purchase discharge medications, provide diabetic supplies to support long-term health, and offer transportation so cancer patients can continue receiving treatment.
We also invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals through scholarships for students dedicated to improving health outcomes in our region. Each act of generosity helps us meet needs both large and small, every single day.
Through the generosity of donors and community partners, the Foundation manages nine charitable funds and three scholarship programs, each designed to address critical needs within our regional health network and community.
